Windows Mail (Vista Only) How-To

Edit or check configuration of your LV.com E-Mail address

  1. Open Windows Mail
  2. Go to Tools at the top menu and click Accounts...
  3. Select your LV.com email account and click properties
  4. Click Servers Tab and be sure that:
    1. Incoming mail (POP3) is set to mail.lardeauvalley.com
    2. Outgoing Mail (SMTP) is set to mail.lardeauvalley.com
    3. Account name is youremail@lardeauvalley.com and not lardeau-youremail
    4. Password will be the same
    5. Check to see that My server requires authentication is checked
  5. Click the Advanced Tab and be sure that
    1. Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Port is set to 25
    2. Incoming mail (POP3) Port is set to 110
    3. Check to see that This server requires a secure connection (ssl) is NOT checked on either POP3 or SMTP
  6. Click OK and then click Close
  7. Click Send/Receive to confirm that you're good to go and everything works the way it should

Add your @LV.com E-Mail Address to Windows Mail

  1. Open Windows Mail
  2. Go to Tools at the top menu and click Accounts
  3. Click Add at the right and select Mail. Click next.
  4. Type in your display name (This is what people will see when the receive any emails sent by you and has no bearing on your email configuration) Click Next
  5. Type in your E-Mail Address. Click Next
  6. In the Incoming Mail (POP3) box, type in mail.lardeauvalley.com
  7. In the Outgoing Mail (SMTP) box, type in mail.lardeauvalley.com as well.
  8. Click the Outgoing server requires authentication box. Click Next
  9. In the e-mail username box, type in your email address (yourname@lardeauvalley.com)
  10. Type in your password
  11. Check to see that My server requires authentication is checked
  12. Click on Next, Click on Finish
  13. Windows Mail will automatically check to see if everything is OK.

New to Windows Mail?

  1. Open Windows Mail

  4. Be sure that POP3 is selected, then click Next
  5. In the Incoming Mail (POP3) box, type in mail.lardeauvalley.com
  6. In the Outgoing Mail (SMTP) box, type in mail.lardeauvalley.com as well. Click Next
  7. In the e-mail username box, type in your email address (yourname@lardeauvalley.com)
  8. Type in your password
  9. Check to see that My server requires authentication is checked
  10. Click on Next, Click on Finish
  11. Windows Mail will automatically check to see if everything is OK.
