HOURS OF SERVICE OF THE EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT IN KASLO: BETWEEN JUNE 24 AND JULY2 2013:
Temporary ED Service Changes at Victorian Community Health Centre
Kaslo - Kaslo and area residents are advised that due to limited physician availability the Victorian Community Health Centre Emergency Department will be closed:
5 p.m. Monday, June 24 to 8 a.m. Tuesday, June 25. 5 p.m. Thursday, June 27 to 8 a.m. Friday, June 28. 5 p.m. Friday, June 28 to 8 a.m. Tuesday, July 2.
Kaslo and area residents should take note of the following if they require care when the emergency department is closed:
In the event of an emergency, call 9-1-1. · Visit the emergency department at Kootenay Lake Hospital in Nelson. · For non-urgent needs, visit a walk-in clinic in Nelson. · Note the weekend and holiday hours of your local pharmacy/drug store, and ensure your prescriptions are up to date. · Call HealthLink BC at 8-1-1 (24 hour service), if you are unsure about your need to go to the emergency department.
Interior Health continues to actively recruit for permanent and locum physicians and regrets this temporary change to normal services.

On Monday, July 1 – Helping Hands Trust will have their 6th Annual Canada Day Run (5 km run or walk or 10 km run).
Registration at Vimy Park picnic shelter in Kaslo, 8:15 am to 9:15 am, 5 km walk and 10 km run start at 9 am; 5 km run starts at 9:30 am. Pickup pledge forms and registration forms in Kaslo at Kootenay Savings Credit Union (KSCU) or Primary Health Centre.
Help raise funds to assist Kaslo and Area D adults in need who have to leave the area for medical tests or treatment.
